It's time to say goodbye for Days In Grief...
All of you who were constantly interested in our band activities, will probably have noticed that Days in Grief were not that active in the last months, as we had been in the past.
Our personal circumstances changed importantly in that time, therefore our wishes and ideas for our band did change as well.
Since we got such a great feedback on our first record “…lessons from the past” in the early days of our band, we always aimed high and had the dream to make a living from the band. Next to this dream all of us - one more than the other - kept reasons at the back of our minds that made us not to stop all other activities, plans and occupational prospects and go with the band full time. But about a year ago we had to realize that this would have been the only chance to do the next step and reach the next level for the band. After a lot of thinking and discussing about our attitudes and future plans, we finally decided to go on with the band only as our hobby and focused on our occupational developments. Now, a year later, we unfortunately have to admit that the fire, love and passion we put into our music decreased bit by bit since we lost our focus and the opportunity to attain new goals. For this reason we decided to close this great chapter of our lives and give Days in Grief a dignified end.
We will continue playing all announced shows (check the dates on our homepage!) and will record an EP with 8 new tracks which will be released on our last show in december in cologne, and then can be ordered at our online shop. The last copies of our album “Behind The Curtain Of A Modern Tomorrow” are available at our online-shop, “Portrait of Beauty” is nearly sold out, you can a get one of the last copies at our upcoming shows.
We would like to thank everyone who gave us this great support over the passed six years. First of all our fans, who made every single concert a great event and gave of so much motivation and encouragement to go on. And there are also some people who were always very close to the band and who we are proud of to have as friends:
Ingo – he was with us from day one as critic, temporary guitarist, homepage designer, and of course selling our merchandise as well as being camera guy together with Sibbi and the team at MeRender.
Christian and Frank at Eat The Beat Music, who already believed in us at a point when we didn’t do it ourselves, who gave us boundless support and this great opportunity to spread our music wider than we had ever dreamt of. Mainly to Christian we’re indebted to for his limitless faith in us.
Werner – our live technician since more than three years. There’s no one who was around at more Days In Grief shows except us four. Thank you for your huge support as band-daddy, exciting card games and a lot of fun together.
Andrea – Tour manager and tireless bus driver. As Werner is our daddy, she could be called our mom.
Allen – Booker and Jaegermeister-killer in perfection!
Andi, Koenz, Benni, Moni – who always helped us out in selling our merchandise.
Heri and his Team at Radar for their support and their faith in our music.
